What's New in Workshare Compare 7
We continue to incorporate your feedback into Workshare Compare 7 and the latest release increases usability and performance, and introduces the following new and enhanced features:
New Document Comparison Features
- Interface matches Windows 7 and Office 2010 design, making it more intuitive for users.
- Home ribbon offers faster access to popular features so you can quickly display or print original, modified and redline documents.
- Different rendering sets can be selected from the Home ribbon and immediately applied to the comparison.
- Comparison progress is indicated by a Progress bar and by the shading in the Super Task Bar icon.
- Source Documents and Change Summary windows can easily be moved, docked or hidden within the workspace, depending on user preference.
- Windows 7 environments support comparison previews, allowing users to quickly select and display the desired comparison in the main window.
New Time-Saving Category View Feature
- Changes can be viewed by selected categories, such as matching changes, numbering changes, punctuation changes, spelling corrections, and style changes.
- Users can select specific categories of changes requiring their immediate attention.
New Automatic Alert and Compare of Modified Attachments
- Automatic detection and comparison of changes when attachments are sent, modified, and returned.
- Automatically identify if a document that has been returned has been changed, directly in Outlook.
- Launch automatic document comparison from Microsoft Outlook.
Enhanced Search Options
- Original documents, modified documents and redline documents are all searchable.
- For redlines, supports search of changed text only, text near a change, or all redline text.
Updated Workshare Configuration Manager
- Administrator Mode enables administrators to configure all settings for a machine or for the current user.
- Administrator Mode available as standalone installation.
- User Mode supports setting changes by authorized users.
- Search functionality quickly identifies configuration parameters.
Easier Installation, Integration and Management
- Redesigned to make rollouts and upgrades easier.
- Supports installation with or without Microsoft Office integration, or with only selected Microsoft applications, such as Word.
- Allows installation without first shutting down Microsoft Office applications.
- Configuration options can be published as a .reg or .adm file to facilitate deployment, or saved as a .wso (Workshare Options) file that summarizes the options configured.
