When downloading the software, should I click Run or Save?
After clicking the download link, a message prompt will appear asking if you wish to run or save the executable file. You should choose to Save the file. It is recommended that the file is saved to the desktop or a 'downloads' folder.
Can more than one Workshare product be installed at the same time, on the same computer?
It is not possible to install Workshare Professional, Workshare Compare, Compare Basic, or Workshare Protect on the same machine as separate applications, in any combination. This is true for both products that are being evaluated, as well as products that have been purchased. *The only exception is that Workshare Compare Basic can co-exist with Workshare Compare for PowerPoint and Workshare Compare for Excel can be installed on the same machine as Workshare Professional builds 5.2 SR2 (9700.800) and above, Workshare Compare builds 5.2 SR2 (9700.900) and above as well as Workshare Protect 6.2 SR2 builds (9700.800) and above. Are there specific permissions needed to install Workshare Professional?
Yes, full administrative rights are required to begin the installation. Can Workshare software be installed on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 64 bit system?
Workshare Professional builds 5.2 SR2 (9700.800) and above, Workshare Compare builds 5.2 SR2 (9700.900) and above and Workshare Protect builds 6.2 SR2 (9700.800) and above are all certified to work with:

Workshare Compare Basic is not certified to work on Windows 64 bit operating systems. When installing on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer, does the UAC (User Access Control) need to be disabled?
Yes, for Windows Vista the UAC must be disabled for install. For Windows 7 it is not necessary to disable the UAC for install. However, if you want to do the following you will need to disable the UAC: customize a rendering set, run the Workshare Configuration Assistant or amend the Workshare Protect policy options using the Policy Configuration Manager. Can Workshare software be enabled to work on a terminal service (Citrix) environment?
Yes, with a minimum purchase of a 10 seat license in one transaction. Does the current version of my Workshare product need to be uninstalled before
upgrading to a new Workshare version? It may not be necessary to uninstall the previous version of the same product; this depends on the version number and we would recommend reviewing the product documentation or contacting technical support for further information.
