How do I renew a subscription (term) license?
To renew a subscription license that was purchased online, please visit our online store. If the original purchase was through your Workshare Sales Representative please click here to contact them or if you are renewing through a Workshare partner click here to locate a partner in your region.
If you have renewed your subscription license and need to enter the new license code, please do the following for Workshare Professional, Workshare Compare, Compare Basic, Workshare Compare for PowerPoint and Workshare Compare for Excel:
- Double click the Workshare icon on the desktop. When the compare dialogue box opens, please click cancel and then press the F4 key on your keyboard (alternatively go to:
File - Preferences - Workshare Configuration Manager):
- Once in the Configuration Manager, please scroll and click on the Registration icon in
the side panel:
- Next, please highlight the Compare feature (see #1 in the diagram below).
Click Release License (#2). A message is displayed warning you that the license for all features will be released. Click Yes to continue. The license is released and no features are listed in the upper area of the right pane. After the "old" license is released, please click Get License (#3).
- The License Authorization Code dialog is displayed. Next, enter the new license code
(12 digits separated by dashes after every 3 characters):
- Click OK to complete the process. For multiple machines you can replace the existing expired license file in the install directory (by default, Workshare/Modules) with an updated license file that has been created from the new subscription dates. This can be done as part of a login script.
For Workshare Protect Standard 6.1 please do the following:
Replace the existing expired license file (WorkshareProtect.lic) in the install directory (by default, C:\Program Files\Workshare\Modules) with an updated license file that has been created from the new subscription dates. This can be done as part of a login script.
For Workshare Protect 6.2 SR2 please replace the License File as above or do the following:
- From the Workshare menu in Microsoft Word, select Options (MS Office 2003/XP) or click Options in the Workshare tab, Options group (MS Office 2007). The Options page is displayed in the Workshare Panel.
- Click Workshare Application Configuration. The Workshare Application Configuration Manager is displayed.
- Scroll and click on the Registration section in the left pane.
- Next highlight the Secure feature in the upper area of the right pane.
- Click Release License in the right pane. A message is displayed warning you that the license for all features will be released. Click Yes to continue. The license is released and no features are listed in the upper area of the right pane.
- Click Get License in the right pane. The License Authorization Code dialog is displayed.
- Enter your new license code and click OK.
- Click OK in the Workshare Application Configuration Manager.
